Community Outreach Coordinator

POSITION PURPOSE

The Community Outreach Coordinator conducts face-to-face, small group and large group interactions promoting a campaign focusing on COVID-19 Vaccine hesitancy and breaking down barriers to access vaccination. This position is responsible for initiating, conducting, and repoting on all activities performed towards this goal. Through this project, the outreach coordinator will use communication, myth breaking, and story-telling strategies to reach persons living in Broward County to help share crucial information to help keep individuals, families and our communities safe. Now more than ever, it is crucial to share up to date information with our community.

The Community Outreach Coordinator is supervised by the Grant Program Manager.

The position is temporary and without benefits. The Cooperative Agreement/grant end date is October 31, 2022 and is subject to renewal by the contracting agency and HRSA.

Nature of Work

Under the supervision of the program manager for the Office of Health Equity and Racial Justice, the Community Outreach Coordinator assists with increasing access, communication, community engagement and educating residents about the benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine in communities that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. This position assists with educating, registering and assisting with transportation to/from vaccine clinics. The selected candidate will act as a liaison between Holy Cross Health and the community, and must have excellent customer service skills along with experience collecting data, engaging vulnerable populations, and those hesitant to become vaccinated. The selected candidate will be required to have a personal vehicle available for use with mileage reimbursement provided per Holy Cross policies. The candidate will also be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Florida. The candidate will be based at Holy Cross with Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends . Individuals fluent in Spanish, Creole, and English are strongly encouraged to apply.

Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in behaviors, practices, and decisions Work with the Manager to identify and cultivate partners and opportunities to engage with the community, with a commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices Develop and sustain positive relationships with a range of people, including residents, community leaders, local groups and organizations, and local authorities Recruit and support local people to become volunteers and active leaders in their community, and ensure that they remain engaged and involved Work as part of a team to support and sustain community-led action around COVID-19 vaccination related to health and wellbeing Conduct community outreach and health education around COVID-19 and act as a bridge to COVID-19 testing, vaccine and support services responsible for supporting community events and relief efforts to assist citizens with their needs Conduct street outreach Conduct educational presentations health related topics at community locations Distribute outreach COVID-19 related materials Document each outreach contact during or after each outreach excursion and individual/group intervention Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior; and Perform other duties as assigned
